The Canadian Shih Tzu Club's day to day business is conducted by resolutions of the elected Board of Directors.  The Board does not convene in person, due to the vast geographic area of our country, but conducts business through motions and discussions held electronically.  We do have an Annual General Meeting in conjunction with the National Specialty - to receive reports and encourage dialogue amongst members.  No motions or business are allowed at this meeting.  Items of a routine nature are handled by motions voted on by the whole Board of Directors as outlined above.  Items that require a polling of the entire membership, such as: election of officers, constitutional amendments, National Specialty location and judge are voted on by all voting members with a mailed ballot.  This allows for the most democratic running of the club.
